Rtn. Dr. Svetlana Toshniwal

I am a practising general ophthalmologist at Eyeris, my own eye clinic at Churchgate, Mumbai. Practising eye care makes me learn everyday, handle every case with full dedication and gear up for perfection in every surgery.

I practise Vipassana meditation on a daily basis which helps me having a balanced approach towards all that life has to offer.

I started my journey with the Rotary a few years back and learnt a lot in terms of service above self, joy of giving and fellowship.

"Pawn is never just a pawn. A pawn is a queen-in-waiting. All you need to do is find a way to keep moving forward. One square after another, you can get to the other side and unlock all kinds of power."

A hospitality professional with a Hotel Management and MBA in Hospitality Service. As a Rotarian, took over many leadership roles, including director, secretary and most recently, president for the year 2024-25. Achieved 100% targets in all areas of services making it a truly vibrant and successful year.

President Elect

Has studied Law and Economics in Vienna, Bonn, Geneva and at Heidelberg University. He is chairman Emeritus of DSB. He is a member of the Board of HDFC ERGO, Chairman of ERGO Technol. He is Chairman of the India Foundation of the Indo‐German Society and an Honorary member of the Indo‐German Chamber of commerce. He is a Rotarian for 34 years, a member of the development council of the Mehli Mehta Music Foundation and a member of the Board of Swades, a non‐for‐profit organisation for the uplifting of the underprivileged promoted by Zarina and Ronnie Screwvala. He is the recipient of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Rtn. Sonal Chandalia

Secretary

Sonal Chandalia is a Mumbai-based Clinical and Life-style Nutritionist and Diabetes Educator. She has a Masters in Food, Nutrition and Dietietics from Nirmala Niketan College, Mumbai and a Bachelors in Life Science and Biochemistry from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. She is currently the Chief Nutritionist at Dr. Chandalia's DENMARC and a Consultant Nutritionist at Jaslok Hospital and Research Centre and Breach Candy Hospital Trust. She joined Rotary Club of Mid-Town 3 years ago and currently is the Honorary Secretary of her club.

Rtn. PP. Anil Kamath

Treasurer

A Chartered Accountant by profession, Anil is a rotarian since 39 years, has held several leadership positions at the district 3141 over last 3 decades. Also been a Past president and is a permanent trustee of the Rotary Club of Bombay Midtown. Currently he is Chairman Infigo Eyecare group of Hospitals. He was a keynote speaker from India at the Harvard Medical International Global summit on trends in healthcare in 2008.

Rtn. Deepak Mehta

Sergeant in Arms

He is 85 years old, a passionate Rotarian for 47 years. He completed 25 years in District 3141. Mr. Mehta has received R.I. award for outstanding efforts in several avenues in 2012-13. Professionally he is into stock trading business.

Rtn. Shernaz Tyebjee

Director - Club Services

Shernaz has been associated with Art, Culture, Publishing and the Social Development Sector for several years. She has been associated with Rotary for most of her adult life as the daughter, daughter-in-law and wife of a Rotarian. Since 2018 she has been a Rotarian in her own right and has been Joint Secretary of Rotary Club of Bombay Mid-Town 2022-23 and continued in that position for the Incredible year 2023-24. For the 2024-25 Vibrant year period, she was the vice-president and is now Director Club services for this year.

Rtn. Kersi Hilloo

Director - CSR

Specialized in the Lubricants field for over 45 years. Established joint ventures, foreign collaborations, and entry strategies, and in building the GULF, PENNZOIL, CALTEX, and FUCHS Brands in India. CEO & Managing Director of Fuchs India (a wholly owned subsidiary of Fuchs SE, Germany) for over 22 years. Currently strategic advisor to Board of Directors of Zeller+Gmelin Gmbh and Gulf Oil India Ltd. Currently Chairman Emeritus of EBG (European Business Group) Federation Mumbai. President of the Rotary Club of Bombay Mid-Town 2011/12. President of IGCC 2020/21; and currently on the Advisory Council.

Rtn. PP. Akhil Shahani

Director - New Membership / Member Retention

Joined RCBMid Town in 1998 and has been a Past president. Dr. Akhil Shahani is the Managing Director of The Shahani Group, which runs a franchised range of colleges in areas like business, media, real estate, finance and others. He runs the SAGE Foundation, which helps thousands of low-income youths gain white-collar jobs and also Unltd India, a prominent incubator for startup social entrepreneurs. Akhil has been listed among the 10 most influential education entrepreneurs & one of the top 50 Thought Leaders in Higher Education.

Rtn. Anupam Chaturvedi

Joined Rotary Club of Bombay Mid-Town in October 2023. He is a M.Sc. Physics from University of Allahabad, International Trade, PGDIT from IIFT. Leadership and performance coach, ICF Certified through Brown University. Retired after 28 years service as director and chief representative of DZ BANK AG responsible for South Asia. Prior engagement was middle management with ECGC for 13 years.

Rtn. Jigisha Parikh

She Joined Rotary club of Bombay Midtown in 2016. A Bcom graduate and an Interior Designer, she designs homes and workplaces. She also designs diamond studded and coloured stone Jewellery. She joined Rotary to give back to the society and fulfil the dream of her father-in-law who always wanted to serve to Indian unprivileged Villages.

He joined Rotary club of Midtown in 2015. He is a Bcom with Hons. Business. He is an entrepreneur. Runs a business of Steel Exports and Trading. He is into manufacturing of Commercial Kitchens. He is a Trustee & Joint Secretary, Saifee Hospital Mumbai.

Mr. Vinod Mirchandani is Founder VM Advisory Services LLP International Education Specialists & Director -Australia India Business Council based in Mumbai, India. Vinod has over fifteen years of industry experience in Banking, Telecom & Travel. Vinod has been responsible for the University of Melbourne’s Engagement in India since its inception in April 2007. He is a Rotarian since 2018 and has been Joint Secretary of the club and Director– Membership. He has been a passionate Rotaractor.
